Applying For Social Security Disability Insurance
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) was set up to give financial assistance to people who are unable to work for at least a year due to injuries or disease. The application process to get SSDI benefits begins with an online application and a visit to your local social security office. Because the Social Security Administration is not allowed to give legal advice, they will not help you with the application process. However, the denial rate for initial applications is typically between 70% and 75% each year.
Appealing Denied SSDI Claims
If your claim is denied, it’s important to get started on the appeal process as soon as possible. In the state of New Hampshire, you have only 60 days from the date you receive your denial letter to file an appeal. Once your appeal is accepted, you will appear in front of an administrative law judge to make your case. Most people are unprepared and lack the skills necessary to successfully appeal their claim.
I know what judges are looking for, and I can help ensure that you put a strong case forward. We can work together to collect documents and build a winning argument.
